Loosen the temporary support boards and open the ladder into position over the ground. Cut the legs of the ladder to length if necessary. Measure and cut where the legs meet the ground with a circular saw. Close the stairs again towards the ceiling. Finally, to install attic stairs, install housing or any other desired fit around the opening.
